IT’S
BENJY, SPANT, AND JOHNLY in...

TIME TRAVEL FRENZY

“Hurry up already Johnly,” screamed Benjy, covering his ears. Benjy is a very aggressive 122/19th year old. Any single thing annoys him, from buzzing bees to the sound of an excavator. He once got so annoyed by Spant blowing his nose.

“He has a point,” replied Spant. “HURRY UP!” Spant is a very...let’s say “particular” person. Spant is the biggest fan of dragon fruit. Once he traded $50 dollars for a slice of dragon fruit. Johnly and Benjy’s mouths dropped to the ground, literally, when Spant told them about the trading.

“I am going as fast as I can. SHEESH!” said Johnly. Johnly is the 12-year-old-genius in his age group. He is currently working on a time machine, just because Spant bothered him for the last MONTH because he wanted to go to the past.

“DONE!” yelled Johnly. “Okay Spant, slowly type in the year you want to go-“

“HOOB LA DO GABLE TYPEE TYPEE!” said Spant, typing the keypad rapidly.

Johnly noted: in the future, never let Spant type in the year we want to go to. Only let Benjy or me, or else, there will be “unintended consequences.”

Soon, Johnly’s United Nations blue time machine (which he calls the Purple Potty CO.) that has turquoise polka-dots blasted into vast the space time continuum...

~A FEW MINUTES LATER~

Johnly’s time machine blasted out of the space-time continuum and onto...the White House lawn. 1861.

~IN THE WHITE HOUSE~

Who should I appoint as the Commanding Officer of the Army of the Potomac? Abe thought that General Joseph Hooker is very confident, General Burnside is very unusual, but, how about General George B. McClellan? Maybe McClellan is the right guy.

~BACK OUTSIDE OF THE WHITE HOUSE~

“According to the time machine, we are at the White House and President Lincoln is debating in his mind who he will appoint as Commander of the Army of the Potomac. He is thinking he will appoint Major General George B. McClellan,” said Johnly.

“I will tell Abe to appoint Major General George Mede to the position,” declared Spant.

“NO NO NO NO NO!!!” exclaimed Benjy and Johnly.

         “Oh brother,” grumbled Johnly.

“Okay, I have told Abe what he should do,” said Spant. ”Let’s go somewhere else.”

         “To Vicksburg!”

~ANOTHER FEW MINUTES LATER~

“I don’t feel so well BARF!” barfed Benjy.

         “AHHH!” yelled Spant.

         “OHHH!” screamed Johnly.

         “Okay, I am- BLARF!”

         “UHHHHIAA!”

         “DISGUSTING!”

         “Okay, now I am fine.”

*Brunisburg was pretty much just a flat plain with a few houses here and there. Grant’s army was just coming out of the river and onto dry land. Impressed with how history looked in real life. Spant’s hands smashed his cheeks, while his eyes puffed so big that they reached up to Pluto.

“Okay, according to the time machine, we are at Bruinsburg, Mississippi. Union Major General Hiram Ulysses Grant,” explained Johnly,  “His first name is not Ulysses, it is Hiram, and it “became” Ulysses when he was at West Point. Some guy wrote his name as Ulysses S. Gra-“

         “Hurry up already!” yelled Benjy.

“Sheesh! Basically, Grant is deciding whether he should go east or north from Bruinsburg.”

“I will tell Grant to go east,” said Spant. Benjy and Johnly sighed.

~AT JOHNLY”S TREE HOUSE~

“Let’s see that old social studies book you have about the civil war Johnly,” said Spant. “Let’s see if we changed history even though we OBVIOUSLY did not change anything.”

“It says,” said Benjy. “Antietam, the Battle of Seven Pines (Fair Oaks), 2nd Battle of Bull Run, and Chickamauga were Union victories. These battles all lead by General Mede were all successful, giving him a rank of a four star general.”

“General Mede was the Commander of The Army of The Potomac and the war ended at Chattanooga. *Abe was good friends with Mede; *Mede also came to Abe’s funeral.”

“Hey, why is my picture of McClellen now Mede?” asked Johnly. “Uh oh.”

Before you know it, the three boys got into the time machine, Johnly typed in the year they wanted to go to, the U.S Capitol, 1861. Johnly pushed the away we go button and off they went...

THE END!!!

When the boys go through time, hum funny music!!!

Branden, I am impressed - you really know your history facts! And of course, you continue to amaze me with each and every one of your writings; this one is no exception. As for my ideas for the future chapters: MORE VIVID IMAGES & DESCRIPTIVE DETAILS, please. : )

P.S. Do I really have to wait a month to read Chapter 3!?
